Voluntary State Bars

As opposed to Unified or Integrated Bar, which mandates all qualified Lawyers to become members prior to practicing law, in a Voluntary State Bar, lawyers are allowed to practice law, without being a member of the Voluntary Bar.

The best-known Voluntary Bar Association in the United States is the American Bar Association (ABA), which was founded on August 21,1878. The ABA has about 410,000 Lawyers and Law Student members.
